Geeking out over geekery
Sep. 8th, 2010 02:10 amToday I learned that my bay has gotten the traveling trophy for highest customer satisfaction marks last month. Furthermore, I've been mentioned as one of the names on the client's short list for a new project they're planning to implement—due to high marks I've gotten for call handling and satisfaction, apparently. Wow.
I'm really coming to enjoy this job in a way I hadn't expected at all going in: it's really really neat to get to hang out with a whole room full of bona fide, dyed-in-the-wool geeks. I can make TV Tropes or xkcd references and people get them. We can have really fun conversations late in the shift when the call volume has died down for the night.
I don't think I've ever been around this great a concentration of geekery for this long a period of time before, and it's really quite neat.
Anyway, I now have to go home and crash. Doctor appointment tomorrow.
