Veterinarian's Day
Nov. 24th, 2009 04:41 pmLast week, shortly before my weekend trip to St. Louis to see folks, I noticed a trace of blood in the bathtub. My cat Benji sometimes pees there. It was a little disquieting, the more so when I got back to find a bit more bloody pee had been left there over the weekend.
Last night, Benji started peeing on random things—like my jacket, my sweatpants, a rug, the sofa. So it was time to bite the bullet and take him to the vet.
And so I did, to the tune of about $140 including cab fare. The vet did not find any crystals in the urine, but said its PH count was rather high and prescribed some antibiotics and special cat food.

Not too long after I got home, there was a knock on the door and I greeted the UPS man, who had come to give me a package from Amazon. It seems that![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
dpawtows had sent me something from my Amazon wish list—the DVD set of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere TV series. I can't think of any better day for something like that to have arrived. It cheered me up a great deal—even when Benji continued to pee on the sofa.
