Reign of rain

Gustav's reign may be over, but now Gustav's rain is over me. I was able to get in to work this morning between torrents, but I hate to think what it might be like when it comes time to go home.

Still…just to think about where that rain has been. It comes straight out of the exotic Caribbean. Imagine, if rain were homeopathic, what might be raining down on me now? Bananas? Sugarcane? Rum? Fine cigars? (Not that I smoke, but still.)

And then it crossed Louisiana, where it might have picked up a batch of homeopathic crawdads, pralines, and nudity-inducing beads…

Well, it's something to think about to make the downpour less annoying, anyway.

Kitty Movie

I got a digital camera today. A friend sent me his 5 megapixel Kodak EasyShare DX4530, and I've been trying it out. I took a bunch of pictures of the kitties that I put on Flickr…and just now, I took a movie of the cats playing with each other. Here it is—at least when Youtube finishes chewing on it.

I think it turned out pretty well. Certainly a lot better than my cellphone movies.
