My podcasts just got lost their funding
Jun. 7th, 2008 12:18 amWell, that bites.
I've just learned that TalkShoe has suspended paying its podcasters. Apparently they haven't gotten any ad revenue in several months, and they couldn't keep shelling out invester money. They say it's "paused" but no indication of when or if it will resume.
It would have been nice if we'd gotten some advance warning about it, or even been notified of it in email. It was really nice to get that $60 or so a month; it wasn't a fortune but every little bit helped.
On the bright side, at least doing the show doesn't cost me much money (unlike some people who, say, shelled out for ASCAP or BMI licenses to use music in their shows)—but it would have been nice if I hadn't just spent $40 on a VOIP audio recording client for use with it.
