Meisha Merlin (probably) goes under
Apr. 9th, 2007 02:11 amI just heard on a mailing list that someone had heard from one of its authors that Meisha Merlin, the small-press publisher that published Sharon Lee and Steve Miller's Liaden books and P.C. Hodgell's Kencyr books, among others, is going out of business. If true, this is a dreadful blow to the sort of niche SF and fantasy that they were able to publish when nobody else could.
I suspect it is true, given prominent mention in another Meisha author's LJ about an undescribed Bad Thing happening that she can't talk about yet.
Hopefully as many as possible of Meisha's books will soon get picked up by other publishers.
