Had a really busy day today at work...for an hour or so, there was a backlog of about twenty calls built up, and no time to rest between calls. Handled a couple of really long ones, a couple of really irate customers...I was burned out enough by the time it was over to take an hour and a half of undertime. I drove up to the Springfield Brewing Company—I'd been meaning to drop by now that their doppelbock beer is available—and managed to catch the tail end of happy hour.

After my beer, I walked over to the art gallery across the street, where I'd happened to see an old acquaintance behind the desk on the way in. Andy Goodwin, the president of the local anime club, AnimeChikara, was minding the counter, since his mother runs the gallery. It had been a while since I'd seen him, so I leaned on the counter and we talked about anime and DVDs and conventions computers and such for 45 minutes or so, until Andy had to go, and I figured I'd better head home, too...so here I am.

Not much beyond that to report. Work is the way work is. Life is the way life is. I'm looking forward to the weekend again.

Quoth the National Review:
When President Bush delivers a speech recognizing the centenary of heavier-than-air-powered flight December 17, it is expected that he will proffer a bold vision of renewed space flight, with at its center a return to the moon, perhaps even establishment of a permanent presence there. If he does, it will mean that he has decided the United States should once again become a space-faring nation. For more than 30 years America's manned space program has limited itself to low Earth orbit; indeed, everyone under the age of 31—more than 125 million Americans—was born since an American last set foot on the moon.
It's about darned time we got back to space. Given that the last time a President called for this sort of thing, we went to the moon in the first place...well, I hope it's not too optimistic a hope.
