Wednesday visiting & touching history
Sep. 3rd, 2003 09:20 pmGot up at 7 a.m., fed the cat, got dressed, got ready, and headed down to Aurora. After a brief stop to ferry my rent check from the MCI building where I'd left it across the street to my landlord's real estate office, and another stop at the Krispy Kreme for breakfast, I hit the road heading out of town. Actually managed to get onto the right exit this time, and subsequently pulled into the mechanic's place at exactly the same time as my Dad.
Some quick instructions to the mechanics ("I have $300 to budget. Do the most critical $300 worth and then give me an estimate on the rest." The mechanic wrote down "$300 use wisely then estimate rest.") later, Dad and I headed back home. We made a couple brief stops along the way—the grocery for some lunch ingredients, a flower shop and a cemetery to see about some things for the funeral of my Dad's Uncle Albert that he's officiating tomorrow—and then headed home, where we got right to work cooking.
