So, the appliance repairman came last night, at about 8:30 as he said he would. He examined the fridge, and came to the determination that it needed a new heater & terminator, for the defrosting system. He said he would find a price estimate on the part, if it was still available, and let Wes the landlord know about it. Unfortunately, what with the Labor Day holiday and all, he wouldn't be able to find out that price until Tuesday. Still, now that the fridge spent all day yesterday defrosting on its own, it does seem to be functioning to keep stuff cool again. The repairman also fixed my old Hotpoint stove's tendency to produce a fireworks display when I turned it on—one of the wires had melted through and was shorting.

This morning, I got up, gave the cat her medicine (somewhat unwillingly, on the cat's part), and went to church. After that, I returned the speaker stand system, and bought some more canned cat food and a 25-lb dry cat food airtight holding bin. I suspect that the cat food I have is not as dense as the manufacturers expected, because it was a 20-lb bag and it barely fit in. The bin came with a free scoop, but it's too big for everyday use; I give the cat 1/4 cup dry along with a can, and the smallest graduation on the scoop is 1/2 cup. Gave the cat her food, and she seemed to appreciate it. Good to see her eating again.

My plans for the rest of the day are to lounge around, as well as to try out a new procmail recipe I found that might manage to reduce the virus hassle in my mailbox. And perhaps I'll watch the latest two episodes of Kamen Rider Faiz that I just managed to download last night. Then I'll try to get to bed reasonably early, to rest up for work tomorrow.
