Work went decently today; I'm out of class now, and taking the time to do a little Internet checking via Worldcomm's personal-use terminals before heading home.

Today we got the necessary password info to go in and check our paychecks in the computer system to see how much we'd be getting and how much taxes would take. I was satisfied with the results; I'll be getting slightly more money than my rough ballpark guess had led me to believe. Nonetheless, almost all of it will be eaten up right away by the necessity of double-budgeting for both next month and the bills I couldn't pay this month. There's a possibility that we may get our paychecks tomorrow, which would be a good thing for me.

Also today we were handed out a sheet full of 52 discounts for MCI Employees. I'm amazed. The discounts range from the useful (several restaurants and pizza places) to to the possibly convenient (fitness centers, weight loss centers, formalware purchase & rental shops) to the unlikely (banks, cellular, daycare, janitorial, tattoo parlors, tanning salons, car dealerships & service shops) to the downright oddball ("Freefall Express Skydiving: $20 discount off an IAD or a TANDEM jump."). When I have money again, these could be useful.

We're going to be having a pot-luck lunch on Friday. I may just default to my pot-luck standby—a loaf of machine-made bread—or I may go all-out Thursday night and bake beef pot pie. It depends on whether I actually do get my paycheck Thursday and can afford the ingredients, I suppose. Though, then again, Joe's supposed to be coming over Thursday night which means I might end up without the necessary time to bake. Oh well...there's always next pot-luck, I guess.

No point in hanging around here much longer. Might as well head home and relax.
