As I was getting ready to head out to the Slashdot meetup this evening, I happened to step on my big, brass belt buckle...whose prong was turned face up. Stabbed a hole right through the toughest part of the skin on my heel. I put a bandage on it, but it didn't help much, now it hurts like heck and I'm soaking it in a bucket of hot water from my tub, hoping that improves things. I hope I can get a tetanus shot from somewhere, just to be safe...

To add insult to (literal) injury, I waited for a half hour past the starting time but nobody showed up at the Slashdot meet. Yay.

Playhouse of Mad Cattiness

Okay, now I've seen everything.

Some guy built his kids a stilt playhouse in the shape of a BattleTech MadCat, over the course of seven months of hard work. Now that takes dedication.

The irony is, if BattleTech were still a property of the old FASA, they'd probably sue him for trademark violation.

Trying to find a local place that will give me a tetanus shot for free or almost-free. Too bad I'm not an SMSU student anymore, I could just go to their health clinic. The parents say that a local clinic where they are gave Dad a tetanus shot in return for a donation, but I don't know that I can find anything like that up here.

The walk-in clinic I just phoned would charge me over $100. Bleah.
