Just another day...
Managed to get a decent night's sleep for once, then woke up and got in to work to do my 6 1/2 hour shift for the day. I'm off tomorrow, as originally I'd hoped to attend a family get-together that happens on that day each year--but then I found out that they're not having it this year. Sigh.
I've come to the inescapable conclusion lately that I'm going to have to start selling plasma again. Oh, pardon, donating the plasma and selling the time that it takes to do it. I really don't like doing it, as it's slightly tortuous to me. Not the actual process of having the needle stuck in and the stuff pumped out and in, but more the fact that to encourage the free flow of stuff, you're supposed to drink lots of water beforehand--and the couches on which you lie whilst doing so seem ergonomically designed specifically to induce a rampant need to relieve oneself. I keep thinking of the Animaniacs cartoon "Potty Emergency." And there's also the fact that I tend to feel more generally tired when I donate regularly.
But there's no way around it. I'm at the point where an extra $50 a week could be a godsend.
Meanwhile, I'm installing a virus scanner on my computer so that I can unzip and run the TurboTax files I downloaded from the Internet without fear of contamination. It would be helpful to have my tax refund back soon--thank goodness for Turbotax e-filing!
