At the job fair

Yesterday, I got an email notification there was a job fair going on today. So today I went down to the local FedEx Office and updated my résumés and printed out ten copies of each of my Customer Service and Technical Writing ones. Then I took the bus up here to wander around and hand them out.

Even though there were a hundred or so employees, I didn't run out of either of my résumés. And annoyingly, as I was handing them out, I noticed a couple of formatting errors, probably introduced by the fact that I wrote them in OpenOffice but FedEx presumably printed them out from Word. Sigh.

Nobody magically offered me a job, but I didn't really expect them to. I did pick up a number of interesting tzotzkes, including an electronic LED D6 and about half a dozen foam rubber can holders. The Frito-Lay booth had bags of chips, which came in handy when I had to take a snack break.

At the moment I'm sitting at a table, banging this journal entry out on my laptop on the convention center's wifi. I'll probably bus myself and my bags of tzotzkes on home in a little while. Maybe snag some more chips before I go, I bet the Frito Lay people won't mind having fewer to take home.

I've got an article due tomorrow so I need to get writing tonight.
