Mmm. Schlotzky's. on TwitpicWell, today the parents came up to do some other things in town, and we went to lunch at Schlotzky's. Mmm.

After that, I needed to get more medicine for my cat (who has started peeing blood again), so I had my parents drop me at the vet's before they went on their way. Since it was convenient, I had them stop by Honey Heaven, a honey shop and tearoom where there is a demonstrator hive behind glass, with live bees. Then we visited a framing shop, which happened to be right next door. It was a pretty neat place.

Then after that, I wandered down to Andy's Frozen Custard for a malt (mmm!) and caught the bus back up to the Square. I hit the library briefly, then took a bus up to City Utilities to pay my electricity bill and buy another book of bus passes as I was about out.

The trip home took an annoying turn as the bus I needed to transfer to was forty minutes late. Geez, Springfield, get your act together.

As I was out and about, I was thinking about a computer I'd heard about the other day. A $99 netbook (like a laptop, only smaller). I started doing some research into it as soon as I got home, and found some interesting facts (which I wrote up in this TeleRead article.

The company behind the device manufactures it out of odd lots of parts—whatever they can get least expensively. They guarantee a minimum level of performance, but depending on what they have on hand you could get more. I think that's rather neat.

And certainly cheap enough.
