Planned: a Branson outing
May. 16th, 2008 12:04 pmTomorrow, what with the weather being nice and all, I think I'm going to do something I've intended to do for a long time. Certainly ever since I got my scooter.
I'm going to head out early Saturday morning and spend the entire day bumming around Branson. There are some places I'd always wished I could visit on one of the family pass-throughs of the place, but somehow never got around to doing. The Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, for instance, and maybe taking in an iMax film. And there are other places, like the Factory Outlet Mall, that are worth looking into—albeit keeping firmly in mind the fact that my available luggage space is limited.
Come 9 p.m., I will definitely be taking in an iMax film, or at least a regular film shown on the big iMax screen: Speed Racer, which I expect to be gloriously, unrepentantly awful. But I've been told that if I'm going to see it at all, I should see it in all its glorious iMax-sized badness.
After that, it will be time to head home, and I expect on my little scooter it'll take me until around 1 a.m. to make it back. But I think I'll be all right.
I kind of wish, come to think of it, that I'd done this back in the old days when I actually had a car. Branson would only have been an hour away instead of two; why did I never think to go?
