I always forget how it seems like there's so much more space in my apartment when it's actually clean.

Today I did the dishes (in my dishwasher), cleared off the floor of my living room, vacuumed it, swept and mopped my bathroom floor and cleaned the toilet, and cleaned off the kitchen table.

I also carried out several bags full of trash and a number of empty kitty litter boxes and cat food bags that had built up. And I rearranged my DVD collection to take advantage of the extra space on the bookshelf I'd cleared out. It all looks really nice. Now I just need to move all the stuff I moved into the kitchen back in, and see about clearing off the sofa, and do it all in such a way as not to look like messycrap.

My next door neighbor came over today with a brand new Compaq laptop that stopped working. I took a look at it, and guessed by the way the battery light was flashing when he tried to turn it on that the adapter wasn't connecting firmly. Turned out I was right. (Damn I'm good.) While he was over here, he noticed my collection of computer games and DVDs and the like, and it came out that he enjoyed System Shock II. So I showed him BioShock, on my new video card. He was duly impressed.

He asked me to find him the locations of the Human Societies in town, so I did so. He then went out and got a cat of his own—a declawed black longhair whom he calls Fuzzy. Really gorgeous cat, shame about it having been declawed (what a cruel practice). But at least it will now have someone who will take care of it.

Well, enough sitting here. Time to start my Pandora.com Loreena McKennit channel and get back to cleaning. The parents are coming tomorrow.
