Dare I hope?
Jan. 23rd, 2008 10:00 pmI just found a message on my voicemail from the fellow who runs the only scooter shop in town that deals with my brand of bike. Or at least my brand of ex-bike.
The fellow didn't say anything except that I need to call him.
Now I have to wait 13 hours until the shop is actually open to find out what he wanted.
I have heard tell that sometimes scooter thieves get stupid (or else just don't consider what the fact that there's only one shop in town that sells and services those bikes might mean) and take their stolen bikes in to the scooter shop for service. Whereupon the proprietor recognizes the bike and takes the necessary steps.
And now I have to wait half a day to find out if that is indeed the case. Well, time to dig up the phone number of the cop who's working my case, and to make sure I take my keys in to work tomorrow.
Dare I hope? I sure hope so.
