Partly inspired by this...
She’d had many forms through the ages. The Hebrews called her re’em; the Chinese, Ki-Rin. Sometimes she had a goat’s body, a lion’s tail; others she was almost a white horse. Strong beliefs called her forth, gave her form.
After Dolza came, she had thought it was over—but a strong will gave her form again. Yet what a form! Mind of silicon, body of steel, horn of ruby...no longer animal but mineral. But her purpose was still clear: there was an ancient evil in the galaxy, and new allies with whom to fight it. Satisfied, the unicorn waited for battle.

Chalker, he had a herd of beautiful beasts moving with grace across the field only as they neared did you see there were no hooves but rather razor shapr claws turning up the earth. Just as they were upon you did you learn their beauty was merely a guise to ensnare the senses as you were impaled on their moonstone pearled horn so their sharp predator's teeth could better consume your flesh.
Then again I've always had a demented view of beauty.
