I was driving past one of those "gentlemen's" entertainment establishment when something about the sign made me double-take. The business had big lighted words along its roof saying "HIGH CALIBER FEMALE ENTERTAINMENT". However, for whatever reason, the lights in the words "HIGH" and "CALIBER" were off, whereas the others were on.
I guess there's something to be said for truth in advertising...
Week's been going decently; read a couple of good books at work. Today, due to a company occasion, we had lunch catered in the form of box lunches from a deli up the road. Very good, too. Turkey and ham sandwich on a bagel, chips, cookie, drink. These lunches are always my favorite, as they're so much fresher seeming than the times we get pizza ordered in...which invariably arrives a half hour before our lunch period, so it's only mildly warm by the time we get to eat it.
The occasion was a "kick-off" event...basically a pep rally celebrating stuff from last year and looking forward to stuff this year. Ho hum. At least it meant a half hour off the phones. I got to take off a little early after that. It's not something I'll let myself do often, but I just felt like it today. Headed out to Walmart on the west side of town, meaning to use some of the odd change on my phone company prize money Visa card to charge up a Walmart gift card and get some gas at the gas station island in the parking lot. (This would keep me from going even a penny over on the card, and would save me a couple of cents per gallon, too.) My car's been missing a lot lately; I think it's probably water in the fuel lines from the cold weather. I bought some additive, but it requires a full tank of gas, and I was going to get that so I could put it in. I got the money on the card...
...but then I forgot entirely to get the gas. Oh well; I can do it another time. Headed up to SBC for a beer in my club mug and a six-pack, and then headed back home to spend the evening noodling on my computer and watching a new episode of Kamen Rider Faiz. I think I'm gonna try to hit the sack a little early tonight; there's not much doing on-line and a good night's sleep will be helpful to me.
