Yesterday at work was a quiet time...in one sense. In the other sense, people brought in TV sets and Playstations and Gamecubes and watched DVDs and played Soul Caliber 2. Toward the end of the day, I went home and got my Shadowfist cards, and taught a co-worker how to play. (Forgot to bring my dice, so I bought a bag of Reese's Pieces to use as counters. After the game, I got to say, "And now it's time to eat the counters!") Came home secure in the knowledge that I was $200 (less taxes) richer for the day's labors.

Today's also been pretty quiet, in more of the usual senses. Finished Pyramids and started Moving Pictures in the Discworld collection I received the other day. Brought my cards in again, and when it gets quieter I may have a go at teaching some more co-workers to play.

Tomorrow I get the fun of getting up way-too-early in the morning and driving home to have my car looked at by the mechanics. And repaired, to the tune of mucho money. I'm afraid I'm going to have to get the repairs done in parts as it's going to take up a lot of my ready cash. I may even have to put off some of those parts 'til much later.

My neighbor's bugging me, asking if he can use my computer to download mp3 files to an mp3 player. (He doesn't have a USB port.) I put him off by explaining that I don't run Windows, so I wouldn't have the right software for it, and that what he needs to do is get to Best Buy and buy a USB port PC card. Sort of a semi-truth, but I have to go back to work soon anyway, and I so hate booting into Windows...

And speaking of which, might as well be on my way.
