Happy Mother's Day!
May. 11th, 2003 07:44 pmSpent Saturday cleaning up, particularly with the vacuum cleaner of brother's. It did quite well at getting all the traces of cat hair that had been left on the carpet by my dear Gumdrop. Also picked up a new covered litterbox, in the hope that this would help out in regard to Gumdrop's unfortunate habit of making deposits just outside the litterbox door. As of yet, it hasn't. So I've sighed and placed a paper towel "doormat" there instead.
Today dawned bright and clear, not too humid, and a bit chilly: perfect bicycling weather! So I went ahead and used my new-used bike to head down to church, a few miles away. It was a fun trip; it was cool and dry enough that I didn't really work up too much of a sweat, and I got some great exercise. Came back home to find my parents waiting in my apartment. There'd been a bit of miscommunication; I'd expected them to be arriving later in the day. It wasn't a serious problem, though; I took a quick shower and together we made spaghetti (using Ragu sauce from a jar), garlic bread (store-bought), and salad (store-bought, with the addition of a tomato). We had champagne with the dinner, to commemorate Mother's Day and my new job. After that, we headed down to my brother's house for an hour or so, then they had to leave for a dinner date. I came back home and had leftovers from the spaghetti.
All in all, a pretty good day.
