Evening thoughts

robotech_masterSpent the last hour or so doing the laundry over at the laundromat that's just a block or so away from this house. Nice little place; even if the machines are slightly more expensive than the place I've been using, they're also more modern...they actually have a little timer that tells you how long the clothes have to go. And it seems more classy somehow than the other place...more cozy.
Whilst I was there, I got to fiddling with the little Bearcat scanner radio that was sitting on a table near the place's TV set...I got it to scanning, much to the surprise of Robbie, the laundry attendant, who said she'd brought the thing over so she could listen while she worked, but hadn't had any luck getting it to scan since then. I explained what buttons I punched to get it started, and she was very happy.
Whew...after all that laundring and clothes folding and stuff, I'm pretty tired. I'm going to head back to the old apartment and crash in a few minutes. It's funny...I find myself wishing fervently that I didn't have to, that I could stay over here. It's not just because my computer and stuff are here, but more simply from wanting to continue experiencing this place...this new apartment that actually has enough room to stretch my legs. But, of course, my furniture isn't here yet so there's nothing to sleep on, and it is a bit hard using the computer with the monitor on the floor anyway.
At least I shouldn't have much trouble getting to sleep tonight.
