Yesterday was the last day of MCI training. We had a fellow come in and explain to us all about how commissions are figured, did a bit more monitoring, and then had a little graduation ceremony where all the supervisors stood around and clapped as we received our certificates of graduation.

One slight bobble: the first day of the new job, we were supposed to be pairing up on the phones for the introductory experience. But, since only five of us are going to the phones at this time, one of us has to be the odd man out, and so I volunteered. Makes me a little nervous, but I'm pretty sure I can handle myself. I hope.

That evening, I felt a bit out of sorts...partly due to some private matters, partly because Commerce Bank rejected my credit card application, and partly various other reasons. I ended up ordering a Domino's double-pepperoni thin-crust pizza...one of my favorite comfort foods, and one which was still somewhat within my budget. With that and a good beer, I felt better.

Today I went over and visited that new apartment my landlord had to offer. It looked pretty good. Two-bedroom, about the same size as the one I looked at a couple months ago but at about $85 a month less, which is good. I looked carefully and found no sign of any roaches anywhere, another positive. Even has ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and a dishwasher (which may or may not work, and won't be replaced if it doesn't work) with a cutting board on top in the kitchen. There's a car port/storage shed, but it's at the other end of the building from the apartment, which is closest to the road. Forced-air heading & air conditioning, full-size hot water heater, fridge, stove, cabinets, fairly new disposall in the sink. Bathroom looks pretty good, too, though as I pointed out to the landlord, there aren't any power outlets in it. Downsides: no washer/dryer, so I'd have to truck my stuff to the laundromat. No ceiling light fixtures in the main room...just power outlets that are on light-switches for lamps. It's not too much closer to my job than my present place is (though it might shave five minutes off my drive time). Still, it's only $300 a month, and much nicer than what I've got right now. As soon as my parents are easily accessible, I need to call them and talk it over.

I can't get over this feeling that my life is starting to come together somehow. I sure hope I don't screw it up.
