Yesterday, I attended the 11:00 service at Glendale Christian Church, a church where my brother used to go (because it was in keeping with our denomination, and he lived only a few houses away). It was a pretty good service, and had a song by local gospel singer Chris Conley (who used to help do the music for the small Christian church where my parents and I went for a long time). It was their missionary day, so the sermon was by a missionary who would soon be heading for a Moslem-dominated country in North Africa (they wouldn't tell us which one, just in case word leaked). Pretty interesting.

I think I like that church, for all it's halfway across town. Not only do they have coffee available, they have a platter of doughnuts—just what I needed for my low blood sugar that morning.

As the service let out, it began snowing pretty hard, so I headed on home. By the evening, we had a thick white blanket of snow on the ground—several inches, at least. Maybe even a foot, I don't know. I'm bad at measuring these things. Looks like I'm not going to be going anywhere very distant for a while.

In other news, I've got an appointment on Wednesday to look at a 2-bedroom apartment setup that I mentioned earlier in a friends-locked entry. They have one-bedrooms, too, but an extra bedroom is just $75 more a month, and the apartment size is 50% larger again. It would make some good storage space, plus guest quarters if I ever have a friend over. It's inexpensive enough, and reasonably close to MCI, too, so I wouldn't have to commute so far. I probably won't be financially able to move until April or May, but that's okay. The rub is that they don't allow pets, so I'd have to leave Gumdrop behind. Well, she's a big cat, and used to living outside, and there are nice neighbors around who will probably take up the burden of feeding them after I've gone. The only thing that worries me a bit is that whoever moves into this apartment after me will probably discover this big orange cat going scratch-scratch-scratch on their door as it's been trained to do by spending so much time in here with me. :)

Anyway, there's so much snow on the ground, it's pointless to think about going anywhere today. So, I'm going to take advantage of that excuse to be lazy and play a bit of Starcraft. On the speakers, since there's no neighbor. Joy.
