My day; tomorrow's trip
Aug. 20th, 2002 10:27 pmToday, Joe Moore (
blacknumber01) came over. He drove me up to City Utilities so I could pay my power bill, then we made chili from the Wick Fowler mixalthough he forgot to put the beans and the salt in it, which made it almost like, though not as bad as the time my Mom made tuna noodle cassarole and left out the tuna.
At about 2:30 we headed out, stopping at a gas station to get him some gas and oil, then at the Battlefield Mall to pick up Joe's paycheck, then down to Aurora to drop me off to pick up my car, which was having the rack & pinion fixed to stop power steering fluid from leaking. At the Mall, Joe happened to show me a video arcade that I hadn't known existed, and I saw my first ever honest to goodness Dance Dance Revolution machine. I didn't know one of those could be found here in this city. I'll have to check it out sometime when I have the time and the cash to blow.
Now I'm just about ready to shower and hit the sack, planning to get up at what is, for me, an ungodly early hour8:30 a.m.&@151;in order to get a good start on the journey to K.C. I've already gassed up my car, and have $14 left on a Wal-Mart gift card; I plan to spend it to gas up on the way back at a Walmart I know of that has good gas prices (and better if you use a gift card to pay). I've made a couple of sandwiches for lunch and dinner on the road; I've thrown some pops in the fridge to cool down, too. I've got some map images on my Clié to help me find where I'm going. Amusingly enough, the HQ of BookCrossing and my Interview Site are within a few blocks of each other. After that, I plan to stop by a movie theater in Olathe and maybe watch a film to celebrate before I had home. Hey, I'm going to be in a metro area, might as well take advantage of the superswank AMC 30 cinema. Mmmm, airline seating.
Gonna go shower now and hit the sack. Wish me luck on my job interview!
